Rshed (Startup company)

Start/End Dates: 10/2018 – 2020/04 Role: Co-Founder & Backend Developer Framework: IoT/ Android / Google Firebase database & Functions (Node.js) Rshed was a winner project in AppzWorld Hakathon conducted by Jeddah Chamber in 2018.

Rshed is an IoT service for rationalizing electricity consumption, composed of an electronic monitor and a smart phone application, fulfilling the control of the electricity bill, and to increase the awareness of rationalizing the electricity consuming behavior. The monitor will placed next to the electricity main panel inside the building unit to sense the electrical consumption and to calculate the consumption cost on real-time around the clock monitoring, for every lights, ACs, and plugins in each room. In addition, the application will provide consolation for reducing the electrical consuming via allow the user to set a limit for the electricity bill in the application to notify him/her whenever it gets close to that limit. The application also shows the monitored data with the cost of the consumption, which also would help for controlling the consumption. As you can see in the POC video, when we turn on the electricity circle, the application receive the new readings.

We won a startup-accelerator program from Badir @ 2018 ، they provided us with working space, financial support, consultations and communications. After almost six months of improvements, and developing web and android applications, we added so much features. So to summarize the structure for this project, this is a simple work flow to clarify the idea.

In March 2020

We participated as a startup company in Saudi IoT 2020, we were sponsored by the Communications, Space & Technology Commission. We got to the MVP stage where we designed the final product box, and put the last touches on the application.

The End of Rshed ! 2020

Unfortunately, for many reasons related to the team members becoming super busy with their jobs, Rshed had to reach its last stage and the team decided to shutdown the project. We sure that we INSPIRED many startup and companies with our passion and ideas. The Saudi Electricity Company announced 1 year later a service similar to our project.
